Getting to Accra Information Portal on Aid Effectiveness for the Asia-Pacific Region

June 17, 2015

The 2005 Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness sets out to accomplish a major shift in the way development assistance is provided. Its core principles – ownership, alignment, harmonization, managing for results and mutual accountability – are easy to state, but add up to a radical change for both donors and partner countries. The 3rd High-Level Forum in Accra in September 2008 is an opportunity to take stock of how far the reality of aid has changed in response to these principles. In preparation, a great amount of research and analysis is underway to assess the extent of behavior change, to identify obstacles and to set the implementation priorities for the coming period. This information portal is designed to help governments in the Asia and the Pacific region to prepare for and contribute to the Accra debates.
