Institutional Arrangements to Combat Corruption - A Comparative Study

June 17, 2015

This comparative study of institutional arrangements to combat corruption, which covers 14 countries, is aimed at providing an overview of the various options available in this regard as well as discussing the advantages and disadvantages of these various options.

The idea for this comparative study resulted from an initial request made by the parliamentary working group on anticorruption of the State Great Hural in Mongolia to provide them with a series of options on how to design the institutional framework that will support future implementation of the national anti-corruption programme. The study provides a useful overview of different modalities used in different countries, and thus offers a menu of options and solutions for other countries in the region and beyond, based on a thorough understanding of the local political, social and economic situation.
